Hi folks,

So I saw a not too long ago on here that somebody made a letter to themselves telling them everything was gonna alright. I thought this was a sweet idea.

So I'd like to do the same idea to myself for the future. I want this to be the letter I pull out of the desk on a day where it seems like all of the world is against me. This is the letter that will bring a smile to my face and hopefully dry my tears of pain. I'm gonna have it written from my current self, Marty, for my future self, Sammi.

I do not know how to make this or what would be a great thing to write. If you have any ideas, please let me know. We could all use a pick me up someday, and who better to give from yourself of the past.

Thanks guys

This is an awesome idea.

Hmm... Well, you want it to comfort, right? Maybe start off with a bit of gentle encouragement, a little nudge in the right direction. Let future-Sammi know it'll all be okay; she'll get through it, and when she does she'll come out stronger.

If you've been in a situation or two where it seemed impossible, but you made it through okay, that might be worth mentioning. Remind future-Sammi that she's been in similar positions before? Then lighten it up with a bit of humour, bring up some happy memories.

I'd start it off with something like,

Hey [compliment].

I heard you might be in a bit of a rough patch. Just wanted to let you know that you'll make it through okay.

And go on from there?
