Hi, I'm in my 5th month of HRT and feel like I may need to get my prescription changed on my glasses. Has anyone else run into this?

Thanks,

Kaylee

Yes I ran into some ocular changes during the first several months of HRT. My eyes opened out, I gained double eyelid folds and my prescription also changed.
Nobody's perfect ...   I'll never try,
But I promise I'm worth it, if you just open up your eyes,
I don't need a second chance, I need a friend,
Someone who's gonna stand by me right there till the end,
If you want the best of my heart, you've just gotta see the good in me.

I've also had to update my glasses and suffer from daily dry eyes which I was expecting.

I got a new prescription recently and it was pretty much the same as four years ago (only a few minor deviations).

Hmmm glasses, one change every time, unfortunately, didn't start till after I was on HRT so can't compare, however the more I wear them and as at each visit the need for a slight strength increase is a sure sign that my eyes are in a slow decline, maybe accelerated by stronger glasses or other things. Luckily all other tests are good.

I need to get new glasses as well, but I think it's just natural progression and HRT has little if anything to do with it

But who knows? Anything could be possible

Ugh, the dry eyes thing is the worst.  Because I have blue eyes, they're already really sensitive.  But now I can't be near fans, or heaters.

I've always had 20-20 vision, but since starting HRT my mobile phone has been getting further and further away from my face and since about six months ago I need reading glasses.  It might just be coincidental, but the slide down has been pretty fast.

Me too!  I've never worn glasses before, but 2 months into HRT, my eyes began to feel strained after reading a book or screen for more than a few minutes.  I never even thought about casually reading things near or at a distance, but now (into month 3) it's noticeably not as easy.  I use eye drops, but that hasn't helped.  It's really making work (at a screen) more challenging.

I did visit an optician before HRT to get my measurements, knowing this was a possible side effect. I didn't need a prescription then, but I'm going to visit again to see if that's changed.  At least I'll look closer to my profile :P.   I'll share what the numbers look like.

I'm just using cheap ones from the 100 yen shop, but I think I'm going to have to get some proper ones made up.

Just found this paper that concluded taking anti-androgen's cause "significant increase in the frequency of light sensitivity, painful eyes, and blurred vision."  Yay...

Hmm, I have those symptoms, and obviously, no AAs.

I started noticing vision issues in my mid 30's, that mostly seem to be due to age and various injuries

Got my first pair of glasses in my early mid 40's and started HRT a few years later, I've only had one prescription update since but feel it's about time for another

I use contacts and I needed to get them changed about 6 months ago. But for me, I think it's due to aging and not HRT.

My issues started back in 4th grade so I don't reallythink hormones were a bi part of the problem, although that was when first puberty started in full swing.

Yep. I've been photosensitive my whole life and it's just gotten worse on HRT.

These are not sunglasses,  I've needed to wear them indoors since I was young. My eyes have always been very sensitive to light, even before I started HRT. Not sure if there has been any changes since I started. I have had a minor strength adjustment in one lense thou.......

My eyes are light sensitive as well, I have what they call 'transition lenses' that self adjust to ambient light  8)  I do kinda get a kick out of them being called transition lenses
