Colleen:  Exactly correct.   This subject is dear to my heart for various reasons.

Before I started my own business I was a mid-level salaried executive at a corporation....  I worked at least 60 hours a week, sometimes more, and I worked sometimes over the weekend ... some Saturday's and even Sundays.   
   
Now that I am self-employed, I am still working 60+ hours a week or more plus some weekends, and there is no set salary, no set set hourly wage, no overtime, no holiday pay, and there is no unemployment insurance, no pension plan, no paid sick days, no paid vacation .... I don't have to rely on decisions made by others.   More risk, perhaps more reward.

But that is the way I like it....
