Did any of you guys get a sore throat right before a voice drop or did the drop happen pretty naturally/no physical strain to indicate it was dropping? Just curious, I've had a slight sore throat for about 4 days now and my voice sounds a bit deeper. But I don't know if this is just a tiny cold or the start of a drop. I can breathe pretty well so I don't have any other symptoms that usually come along with a cold.

It could be either. A couple of weeks after I started T I did get a sore throat, and I got a bit excited. Then my eyes and nose started to run...

When my voice did start to drop, there weren't any warning signs -- it just started sounding lower, and it took me a few weeks to be sure it was real. Now it's the first thing people notice if they haven't seen me in a while.

So you'll probably just have to wait and see what happens. Are you recording your voice?

I did.  It seems, that my throat gets sore, I sound raspy, then I drop a little bit.  I have a day or two where m throat  isn't so sore, then it starts all over again. My voice is dropping slowly since I'm on super low dose T.

I did. My throat got scratchy and sore, and within a few days I had some voice dropping and cracking.

Gotcha, I'll just have to see if I notice anything. Yeah, I record it monthly.

I'm on a low dose too that's why I'm wondering if its a drop or not, cause I've been waiting haha

Mine gets sore periodically during the lowering process.  Some days it can really hurt badly, so I drink warm tea (works better than cold liquid).

I'm on a low dose (going to be upped next Monday, finally).  Two days after my first shot my throat started to feel scratchy and sore.  It wasn't until four days later it was apparent I had a cold.  But after the cold finally went away, my voice was still lower so *shrugs*. Could be a cold, could be your voice, could be both. I haven't had any dramatic drops, it's been gradual.  No soreness since then.  But I've heard of that happening. Keep recording yourself and see what happens.

Never got a sore throat.

My throat never got sore, but I did experience a feeling of tightness and some vocal strain. During this time, many people thought I was sick -- it was hard for me to tell, but I guess I sounded raspy or like I was fighting a cold.

My throat felt odd, kinda choky at first, it passed quickly and didn't happen again after the first time.

I had a sore throat about 6 times over my first 6-7 months on T. The first time was within the first week. Each time seemed to precede a small drop or change in my voice. I would get the sore throat about 2-3 days before I'd notice a change in my voice and then it would fade. Oddly, the biggest maturation of my voice came at about 7 months and without a sore throat. Since then, it is always read as male even over the phone. It has maybe matured since then, but I haven't had any really large changes since. I also haven't had the sore throat since then either. I had questioned at the time if it were "allergies" or some other irritant but I do think it was the stretching and changing of the vocal chords.
