Hi Everyone,

I wasn't sure where to put this, I looked at beauty but that didn't seem to fit the bill, so here goes.

Does anyone else use breast forms? and why.

I understand the esthetic reasons but for me there has always been a psychological reason, they make me happy. I'd rather go through the rigmarole of putting on and taking off my beautiful silicone babies than taking prozac. I get a lovely sense of inner balance and inner peace when I wear them. I work for myself using the internet so I spend most of the day alone but I still wear them every day just because of how they make me feel.

I'd love to hear others opinions, feelings and experiences on this.

Love Heather.

Luv & Hugs for everyone.  :icon_bunch: :icon_bunch: :icon_bunch:

I loved mine and the way they made me feel when I wore them, but that was part of my secret crossdressing to try and manage the feelings of wanting to be feminine that I was hiding and repressing. People who have accepted that part of themselves and actually started to transition might feel different.

Hi Amy,

O I could hug you for saying that. I started off at 8 with my sisters bra and cotton wool. By 10 it was water filled balloons. By 11, accidents had made me use gelatin in the water balloons. This went on all my life. Right from the very beginning, they always made me happy, eased any anxiety and made me feel whole. I know straight guys who have used some of my old ones for a joke, they told me afterwards that they had felt a wonderful peace inside themselves whilst wearing them.

Luv & Hugs for the lot of you. :icon_bunch: :icon_bunch: :icon_bunch:

If breast forms make you happier, then by all means wear them.  I don't see a downside to that.

I wore them for about a year, before I started dating and decided it was false advertising.

I got a lot more attention from the menfolk than I do now.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

Before going on hormones, I would wear mine whenever I could get away with it.  As you mention, the psychological effects can be helpful.   I find that breast forms and some clothing works to settle my mind and bring me peace.  That was one of the factors in accepting the need for me to transition - just how much better I feel in 'girl mode.'

Since starting hormones I find I use the forms less.  In part this is practical - sometimes they just do not feel comfortable.  But also the calming effect of the HRT.

I 'm using a padded bra for right now, but will hopefully get some soon. They are more helpful than i expected in making me feel better and plenty of cis-women also have to wear them.

I have a few different sizes and wore them a lot before I started HRT. But now I rarely wear them, or when I do I use the "cup filler / push up" kind same as any girl with small breasts, rather than a complete prosthetic.

If you wear something too far from your real size, you might get to feeling/needing to wear them all the time (if someone sees you without them, that might be awkward).  And as Suzi said, it might be a little false advertising if you're dating.

Of course if it makes you feel better and more confident, do it. :)

When I first started I had no clue or even knew breast forms were available, I experimented with various things like rolled up socks and water balloons filled with warm jello etc. By the time I learned of breast forms I had already started HRT and was having some good results so I went with that

I kinda wish I would have known about breast forms early on and think that if they give someone a degree of comfort and/or confidence then go for it  :icon_chick:

Many ciswomen actually wear them!  I do myself though I have a full B after 10 years on mones.  Like many women I use the "chicken cutlets" to give heft, cleavage, and lift to what I have.  Especially for us, our breasts tend to develop further away on the chest from each  other then most genetic women.  The cutlets help.

Silicone ones feel best, they have the weight of normal breasts. I wore them for quite a while then gave to Goodwill when my own began to develop. Enjoy, they will make you feel more like a nice woman.

I started out with a set of A-to-B pads in padded bra's. But now I've got a cheap set of silicon forms.  I mostly wear the forms, when I'm out, but have continued to wear the pads here at the house and when I'm going for a subtle look, like my first time at church  with a more androgynous look.  With the pads I'm either a full A or small B, but my forms are a full C and have a good weight to them.  I guess the only real con to forms I can think of, is unless they're the hard styrofoam kind you can't wear them to bed, oh and you need to be careful not to have something sharp puncture them.  I love to wear mine, right down to the firm nip.

Many GG's wear forms especially after having to deal with cancer, or when nature just doesn't deliver.

I bought breast forms when I was experimenting back then and I didn't like the feeling of it.
It was also big for my size, it looks like I've already given birth to 10 kids LOL.

I have developed a nice cup A that I usually use with a push up bra to give it a bit of a lift.

Love,

April

Definitely go with what your comfortable with. I also started with breast forms and it was a huge help early on. Hugs

These, IMO are the best on the market.  You can wear them 24/7 and even sleep with them on.   They are gel, so you can't puncture them and they really do last a long time.  And yes, I have no affiliation with this company.

I think I echo what many others have said, initially I had a wig and breast forms but when I decided to go full time and on hormones it somehow felt silly and non genuine so I stopped wearing them but I was lucky cause I had the option to do that, I wore my forms a couple of times after that when going out partying but then just stopped, still waiting for my own chest to catch up :P

Pros for wigs: Quick hairstyle, don't have to spend as much time washing, drying and having it cut
Cons for wigs: They can be really warm and cause you to sweat, they can slip and finally you can come across jerks that try to remove them

Pros for forms: Genuine looking, you can get any size you want, you can take them off if you feel like it
Cons for forms: A lot of low cut or strapless tops/dresses are off limits unless you use glue which frankly is a pain in the butt

And finally both wigs and forms will raise eyebrows or worse if you get intimate with anyone.

Even if  if they are fake, they feel like they "belong" to my body, and not awkward or silly, but beautiful  and feminine.  I now wear mine whenever i can, and feel as if part my body has been stolen when I have to remove my them..

Hi Rachel,

I'll use them until my op in October but even then I'll never get rid of them. After all this time they feel like they are a part of me, a part of my feminine self.

Heather.

Luv and Hugs for you all. :icon_bunch: :icon_bunch: :icon_bunch:

Yeah, breast forms were great back in the day. I wore mine pretty much constantly before HRT, since the lack of breasts was one of the most powerful sources of my dysforia and they helped with that. I was pretty overweight at the time, though, so they didn't really look like breasts rather than just larger moobs. Still, helped me so I kept wearing them. I'm giving them away pretty soon since I've grown B cups in 10 months of hormones, so I don't really need them anymore. And it was actually just a few months into hormones when I had too much boobage for me to use them since they're designed for a flat base chest. So if you get them and go on HRT at a later date, you might want to find someone who might have use for them after you don't need them anymore.

As for cons, the only thing I can think of is that if you wear them while doing something that makes you sweat, it might cause a bit of a rash. But other than that, there really are no negatives outside of social pressures. The only time I've been sexually harassed was when I sported a beard and my breast forms.

I actually have a few from really early on in my transition. One pair were kind of small one were nice but I used double sided tape to hold them in place and wasn't careful one day and had to get a replacement again. My third pair were my favorite and there was a time were I wouldn't present female without them. Though after about 3 months on hormones and maybe 6 months since presenting female on a regular basis I decided my own very small A cups were enough like boobs then that I didn't need the breast forms. This was also before I went full time, not long before actually, and the annoyance of dealing with the tape, worrying about them showing and giving something away and just a feeling like it was more of a costume and less of myself pushed me away from them. I currently were super padded B cup bras and my little A cups can mostly fill up he empty space in them these days. I even get a little cleavage in the right top or sitting in the right position. I've enjoyed not worrying abow maybe a slightly low cut shirt or a feeling like someone might notice but they definitely helped me feel better pre and early HRT.
Live a life with no regrets and be the person you know you were meant to be.

I am a weird girl, I like video games and skirts, swords and nail polish, sharks and black lace...not sure if that's normal, definitely sure that I don't care. =P
