I just wanted to know how long approximately mood swings last when you start T?

I'm trying to plan out my year and cannot have any funky mood things happening during the months of September/October.

I haven't started taking T yet, but I was hoping to within the next few months.

T doesn't necessarily cause "mood swings" at all.  I never experienced one at all.  I know a large number of guys who didn't either.  It's not something that should be anticipated as factual since most cases are anecdotal.

T stopped my 'mood swings'. I'm not sure why you would think T causes them.

Yeah T stopped my mood swings too. I had terrible mood swings preT and I'm so much calmer and reasonable now than before T.

I also experienced crazy mood swings my first few months on T. My doc switched me to a lower dose, increased shots to weekly instead of every other week, and bumped up my anxiety/depression meds. Its worth noting that I struggled with depression/anxiety before T, and those always increased during my time of the month before T. But once I started T, it was even worse than my monthly mood, constantly. Hope that makes sense. So the mood swings are definitely possible, but like the other guys said, you might not experience anything at all. It's not really something you can plan for, you just have to treat the symptoms as they come up. FWIW, since we got my dose sorted out, I've never been happier and stable!

the only time you might have mood swings is if your dose is too high (above normal range) or you are doing your shots biweekly because you have those ups and downs more often so you will have your mood swings near the end of the second week when you need to take your shot. that's why i like mine every week because my moods are stable.

I can't really say that I've had mood swings at all.  I've been less patient at times, but it was something I noticed fairly quickly and I'm hyper aware of it now. As far as mood though, nothing.

55 years... Um, special case.  ;)

Mood swings seem to be caused by levels of either T or E going up and down. If your levels are steady it shouldn't be an issue. But just because your moods don't swing doesn't mean they're stable at a GOOD place.
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.

Forgot I started this thread, haha. Pretty sure this was the last thing I posted before my accidental forum hiatus. I remember thinking I needed to start T within weeks and was freaking out (I seem to do that). I'm going on a big trip this fall and decided I'd rather not make another huge life change at the same time :(

Thank you, that really does help. We sound similar.

I also didn't know there were some people who never experienced mood swings since I have only ever witnessed others talk about it as fact. It seems obvious to me that any hormonal changes would cause mood swings, especially changes so closely resembling puberty. I think menopause usually makes people moody too, right?
