Hello I'm new here and the reason why i came is because Im having some doubts about my hrt.

i just stared one month ago. what im taking is estrace( 2 times per day) and androcur (once per day) that's what my doctor prescribe me .
so the problem here is that i haven't notice any changes ! i knew the process will take some time but the thing is that i <not allowed> i remember my boobies were itchy and swollen and that was a kind good feeling because i knew the pills were working .
but now that im taking higher doses and im also blocking my testosterone with the androcur ( something new to me) and i haven't notice anything ! well it just a few minimal things like :
my acne problem is reduce now, my libido is almost dead but its all .

like i said i know in the first month there's not major changes and the process is long but i was a bit sad hearing from other girls feeling swollen boobs and not me lol.
i have also to say that i don't have a very masculine body for my age (22 years old) im not hairy at all i never had beard or mustache in my life lol . my skin as been always pretty soft so that's why i thought hormones and T blocker would be taken easy and well into my body . but i see this isn't the case :( and now im afraid that my body will never take hormones well.

i have my next doctor's appointment in the end of April so she will see my blood test and everything ...

*mod edit- no dosages please

what do you think ? is this a normal ? or i should be looking for another doctor  ?

Hi little.j welcome to Susan's. Firstly please do not post dosages. Second of all people are different and medications will react differently for each person. Particularly in the early stages it is important to work with your endo to make sure that the dosages and the particular medication is right for you. I am sure that the endo will low ball the dosages for the first little while first to make sure that you aren't taking too much and secondly to get your body used to hormonal changes.

Its WAY to early to be concerned. Everyone is different. I had so many people tell me to expect to be calmer and get more emotions in the first week. The difference was so minor is wasn't even worth mentioning. Now 3½ months in? Its starting to happen. I'm experiencing an emotional awakening. I was trying to take a selfie of my new hairdoo a couple days ago and was shocked how noticeable my breasts were and they still aren't all that big. It just requires a LOT of patience. Unfortunately that's not something I've ever been good at. But now that I'm seeing it start to pay off (just very slowly) its incredible. I had no idea it was going to be this good.

Hey little.j, welcome! My advice is to allow yourself to relax in this. You and your doctors need to work on dosages together, but nothing except time is going to get you to where you want to be.

Take some solace that you ARE on HRT and that you only have to wait! :)

If you need to do something extra, then may I suggest finding something to wear that helps you feel "girly"? I know that doing and wearing masculine things (I'm FtM) help help me feel more like a guy, and I'm not on T yet, so it really helps!

Hope things start to "perk up" soon for you! ;D
