When does... erm... downstairs die?

So! As some of you may know, I was on low dose E only HRT for three months. When I had my follow up and my levels hadn't really changed and my Endo said the 'numbers are irrelevant' I made an appt with a different endo. SO I got put on T-Blockers (finally) about a week and a half ago. Now my question is, boy parts downstairs have always been a huge source of dysphoria for me and I can't WAIT to eventually get SRS, but till then, how long on T-Blockers before downstairs stops coming alive unexpectedly?  Especially in the morning...  :P

I think that this is different for everyone. I'm on injections now and down there still works with a lot of inspiration.

I'm only talking about spontaneous erections. Downstairs still working with some inspiration is fine  ;)

Ah. Spontaneous went away after a few months. I would get them every now and then when I was on pills. With the injections, they never happen.

mmmmm

If you're taking spiro, the spontaneous things might take some time before they go away for good. Cyproterone acetate resolves this issue basically immediately, it's a medicine meant to do this. Spiro is meant to do other useful things, slowing T production is only one of it's side effects.

I have been on a small dose of spiro and estradiol pills for a couple weeks now, and have already noticed a significant decrease in spontaneous erections. My libido was outrageously high prior, so it is easy to notice the difference. I even woke up a couple mornings without an erection, and I cannot remember that being the case in 15 years. Still no problems getting it up when I want to though  ;)
Being transgender does not give anyone a free pass or a hand out... we just want a fair shake and an opportunity as any AMERICAN and that is the freedom and LIBERTY that I fought for and defended.

2 weeks max for me.  Each person is different.  Glad you went to a different Dr.  Mine said that putting a MTF on E only without T Blockers is idiotic and does no good as the T overpowers the E.

It took about a month for spontaneous erections to cease and desist after I started spiro.

2 to 3 weeks and spontaneous erections should subside, this is assuming your T drops.

I should add I started with E and spiro at the same time. I had started with finasteride 3 months prior.

It's been so long since I had morning wood I can't remember. Seems like it was pretty quickly though, a month or two (if I had to make a guess). It never got "up" otherwise (like when I was driving...damn that was difficult).

It generally works "with encouragement" but not even Viagra helps much.

It was probably about 1.5 months before my sexual function dropped to the point where my sex-drive was more or less at the level it is now, and spontaneous erections more or less completely stopped.

Since then, it's been dying a slow death. Maintaining any sexual function started becoming difficult around 6 months, and now at 2 years I can't get an erection at all anymore without SEVERE pain. I want that damned thing gone so much... I want to be able to enjoy my intimate life again instead of feeling like I'm being stabbed in the groin every time I'm attracted to something.

It was almost immediately for me, within 2 or 3 weeks easily.  My regimen included Spiro, E and Finasteride almost straight away.  I haven't had anything spontaneous since then. :)

It's always the first thing I notice - within days.  I've maintained full functionality long-term but the spontaneous erections stop happening right of the bat.

If you are talking about pleasure, hell no girl, in fact it gets better(at least for some of us). But maintaining erections can be a challenge, but you dont need them for pleasure, maybe for orgasm but meh..

It was within the first month of HRT for me (super low dose E, no AA). On the other hand, the damned thing worked fine if I was really in the mood right up to the day before GRS - not that I wanted it, at that point!

Hi!  I've been on estrogen and T blockers for over 15 months now and I've completely lost all spontaneous erections (morning erections/erections via driving on a bumpy road/stuff like that).  I lost the spontaneous ones after about 4 or 5 months of hrt (after having the typical female hormone levels for roughly 2 months) ^.^ But I still definitely get erections when I am turned on!  And a lot of the time they're strong enough to penetrate.  But the erections are 100x easier to control so they never happen when I don't want them to now (yay never having those awkward standing up moments again :) )  I'm 20 years old if that helps!

My sex drive was such a curse and when I started, the drive went kaput after about 3 days!

And it's been that way ever since.

Mine never did. I hate to be gross but the night before my surgery, I gave it one last work out... you know, for old times sake.

It's almost twenty two years ago now, but at age 38 I was started off on a heavy dose of Premarin and Spiro and I can remember the insantity of having a male sex drive dying away almost immediately.  Erections in all their forms vanished too after a couple of weeks which was such a relief because I'm strongly dysphoric and was sorely tempted to get rid of the thing myself with a little desperate self surgery.
For me at least I can't bear any form of sexual intimacy because it only rubs my nose in the fact that I'm living in the wrong kind of body.  I had an Orchiectomy around fifteen years ago, but I'm still pre-op, and with absolutely zero sex drive I can put up with that as I'm not interested in having an intimate relationship with anybody.  These days I'm still on Spiro, but have changed to Climara patches because my liver started to be upset by oral hormones.  On Climara I'm still dead as a doornail downstairs which suits me just fine and long may it continue.   :icon_biggrin:
