Well its official my transition is complete.  It's been a long strange journey,  but all things must finish  :)

I am post op,  have my gender recognition certificate,  and just today been discharged  from the NHS gender clinic.  There is nothing more,  I am just a woman,  legally and physically...  Me thinks a bottle of champagne  for tonight.

Thanks for the support,  and guidance that reading your posts has given me through the years! I am now content and whole and wish you all the best  X

Mods can I please have my account removed please.

Rachel,

If you don't mind my saying so:   DON'T GO AWAY!!

There are many of us just starting that could benefit from someone with your experience in transitioning.  I understand that you may want to get totally away from here and start living you life fully as a women, but think of those left behind...

I really think that this  is one of the problems and big differences between transgender people and lesbians and gays.   Once a transgender individual has finished transitioning all they want to do is quietly disappear  into the crowd, whereas lesbians and gays will always be lesbians and gays and will continue fighting the battle to get and maintain their rights.

Please, DON'T GO, and help fight the ongoing battle for all of those that are transitioning!!

Woo! Congratulations, Rachel! *big hug*

But like Emily said, please reconsider deleting your account. I'll understand if you feel it's what you need to do, but I'm sure many of us would appreciate you dropping back in on us from time to time. :)

Congratulations!!!!!!!!

Funny, I had a bottle of champagne to open, but upon coming home, I was exhausted.
Days turned into weeks and months, still haven't opened it.

I think when I look back at my transition, I'd say the most momentous day wouldn't be my surgery, but really was the first day of transition. That day started it all.

Also, in my mind, I dont know if transition stops with surgery.

Huge congrats,

Having said that I would stay in touch with the community, there are still some things you have in common with those transitioning and there are many that could benefit from your experience.

Hugs and you should open  that bottle of bubbly tonight!
