I think that more needs to be said in this article.  While I would love to see funds covering the cost of this center, what is the precedent?  Do tax funds help other minorities on campus?  Did the campus set aside monies or grant land to religious campus organizations?  Are student fees being used to fund these things?  One way or another, they have to be fair and consistent, however that comes out.  But there is never a good reason to tolerate abuse, and it seems that lots of it is going on right now on that campus.
