It does get better

Hi Beauties,

I just want to share something with my girls that are starting their transition and having difficulties with passing, acceptance and relationship or at the verge of giving up hope (i.e. de transitioning)  and losing sight of what great things are ahead of them. I can tell you that there's a light at the end of the tunnel and that it only gets better from here on.

I'm not sure what happened but I felt a surge of freedom ever since I claimed my womanhood. I always tell myself that it's my birth right to be a woman and I don't have to justify and feel that I need to pass because I am a woman period. I cannot tell you how much change I have seen in the way people and strangers  sees me. They don't see anything but a woman. But it started with owning my truth and my weaknesses. After that, I felt free. My friend always tells me What you resist and persist and so I surrendered and just strived to be a better version of myself everyday.

So to my beautiful ladies, it does get better. Keep that chin high!

Love and Respect,

April

God, I hope that can happen to me one day...it feels like an unrealistic expectation though.

You look stunning in the new picture, btw.
My gender problem isn't half as bad as society's.  Although mine is still pretty bad.

April, very inspiring and so very true. Both you and Mrs Izzy stated exactly what's most important in regards to this. Andro is right, your new profile pic is a fantastic one of you.

April,

I never once lost faith in you. You are very beautiful and you really have nothing to worry about passing wise.

However we all have our confidence issues.

It's said that most of passing is confidence. People try to pooh pooh that by saying it's looks. Truth is, it's both, but without confidence you really don't stand as good a chance of passing.

So much truth in this thread.

When you "own it" it sets you free to be your true, authentic self.

There is no doubt that transition is a hard road but if you persist through the tough stuff better things await you.
