Hello everyone,
I have some questions regarding laser hair reduction (LHR) but I'd like to provide background information before I ask away. Despite having LHR done in the past, I'd like to gather some more information, advice and experiences from other people. I'm 23 years old, have dark brown skin and black hair.
In 2013, I had two sessions on my entire beard area with -if I remember correctly- a dual laser (alexandrite and pulsed diode). Unfortunately for me, it was more expensive than I expected as there wasn't much competition for other salons which offered LHR so I couldn't afford it anymore. In addition, after the second sessions, I noticed that my skin had developed scabs. This wasn't a good sign and, in hindsight, was no doubt the effect of using those types of laser on dark skin.
About a year later, I moved to London and found a salon which used a Nd:YAG laser, the results were *much* better than I had previously experienced. I had a set of five sessions on my underarms and two sessions on my face. Once again, financial problems coupled with time constraints meant that I could not pursue the regular sessions (and number of) as required.
It's been more than six months and my life is becoming stable, I can afford to pay for single sessions at a time or perhaps a discounted set if it's offered. This is why I'm on these forums, so here are my questions:
1. Does anyone know of any good place in or near London,England which offers LHR?
2. How can I distinguish the professional places from those which aren't? Are there any warning signs that I should look out for?
3. What are your thoughts and/or experiences on groupon deals offering LHR sessions? I question the efficacy due to the prices yet I'm both wary and intrigued by these offers.
Thank you for reading and I look forward to your answers.
