Of course, they do mean under a doctor's guidance. If you self med and overdose you can run into trouble.

What would worry me more is if liver readings get out of range, but that's usually caught and I'm guessing doesn't show up in this study (ie the study doesn't include those who had to stop).   I wouldn't be so worried about overdosing so long as rough doses by body weight from reputable, trustworthy sources are available to the self-medicators out there.  It's a sign of privilege when we assume everyone in the world has the economic ability and health care availability to be able to avoid self-dosing of hormones.  For many, they are not optional and the alternative is the same (an early death, by one route or another).

I wish there was more that could be done...instead we pretend like it doesn't happen and keep the dosages hidden.  And yes, kind moderators, I understand the liability issue for sites such as this, and no, I'm not railing against Susan.  Doesn't mean I have to like the reality of the whole situation, you know?

Thanks for posting such an informative post TC!!! All those little extra things to make one feel safe and secure really counts. As for the blood clots they may be able to be controlled extensively by spicy food because capsaicin works well to keep blood clean by breaking down intruders like bad cholesterols and yes even pill impurities.
