Seeing a gender therapist could be helpful. If you get along well with your current therapist, it wouldn't necessarily mean having to switch therapists altogether. But having a few sessions with a specialist probably couldn't hurt.
My therapist isn't a gender specialist either (I started seeing him before I had an idea I was trans*). When it finally clicked for me that I identify as male, I went to see a gender therapist just to find out how to proceed and what to watch out for; also, to have a plan B if things didn't work out with my regular therapist. Fortunately, they did and I think I may not need my plan B for the time being.
