So luckily I have started at a new school about a year ago and have come across an FTM at my school, we are both in a fb LGBT group (at school also) and I would like to get to know this person so I can understand myself, grow, talk with somebody I could open up to (unlike my cis friends) and maybe make a new friend; but how do I do so since I am still on the fence about my transgender...ness and may be perceived as a prying bully?

Well if you remain polite and nice you will probably not be perceived as prying.

You might simply contact them, maybe even through text, and say you have a few questions... since you think you have gender issues yourself...
you might ask them to keep it confidential... and you simply might talk a bit.

Just be as polite as possible. I've had a few friends come to me in similar situations, and I don't have a problem talking to them about it as long as they are polite about it.

You'll have no problems at all if you approach him as someone you'd like to be friends with because you like him and think he's an interesting person. Get to know him as you would anybody else, and keep in mind that friendship is a two-way street -- it's as much about what you can offer him as a friend as it is about ways you think he can meet your needs.
