I had to buy new binders recently (went with the 997 as usual) and I was going to get some other stuff here in the next few weeks, but I wanted to come on here and ask a few of you guys opinion.
I have bought the 998 before. But I think I got it too small.
I usually wear a M in Underworks 997, but the top panel of the 998 was TOO SHORT to be comfortable. It wasn't as long as the tri-top, and fit me literally like a bra... it was awful. It rested right beneath my moobs (which are only around a B) and just wasn't comfortable overall...
I don't typically need a LOT of binding, so I considered getting the 993 because I like the look better than the 997 and was told (by underworks) that it still compresses the chest pretty well, but not as well as 997.
However, I REALLY want the 988 tank top to work out....and I'm assuming that it fits like the 998 fit (since it's the same thing, just 998 is a t-shirt and 988 is a tank top)
I thought about perhaps going a size or two up so that I could POTENTIALLY wear it out.. but I wanted to know if any of you had tried that before. I know a lot of people say it can't be worn on its own, but that's getting their usual binder size.. I wonder if I were to get a size or two up, if it'd be different somehow(and because I think I can get away with it due to not needing a LOT of binding)
I'm 5'9, very broad shouldered and chested.. and currently pretty athletic.. so I honestly think that an XL wouldn't be TOO big on me considering I measure a 41.5 around the chest at my tailor. And if I COULD wear it alone after going up in size, it'd be a plus (Plus it'd be nice if I got it bigger so that it was actually bearable to wear)
I also thought it might be cool to get it in white and do an iron-on graphic (if it could be worn on its own, that is). That way, it looks like just a tank top.
