So I recently bought this awful, cheap Chinese made electrolysis machine for home use for $30 because I can't afford real treatments and I can't wait until I save up the money for them (if I ever do have that kind of money just laying around)... it was a complete piece of junk lol. It was actually unsafe to use, when I used it on my face it gave me severe muscle twitches while I was using it, even at the lowest setting. No worries though, there are no lasting twitches c: And after a few minutes it stopped working, so I had to make some modifications to it to fix it, which took me like an hour. Honestly a bad waste of time and $30, not to mention that is extremely extremely painful to use on your upper lip. I know that real electrolysis WILL pinch a little.. but this was not just a pinch lol, it felt like I got shot in the lip with a BB gun, which is saying something because I have a very big pain tolerance. The name of it is Clean + Easy Deluxe Electrolysis Home on Amazon, here's a pic.

BUT!

While searching on Amazon I found a legit IPL device for home use called the Veet Infini'Silk, because it's frankly all I can afford. xD A picture:

After just one treatment with it on my face, I am able to get a perfectly smooth shave on my upper lip for the first time in my life! And I can cover up my shadow now with less than half the concealer I used to have to use. It's an absolute bargain for $120.
Just before you actually treat an area with it, try using it on like your arm or something for just one flash to make sure you don't have a bad reaction to it.
The best thing to do honestly is get hair removal professionally done, but not all of us girls have the time/money/ability to do that, and none of us should have to look in the mirror and see a shadow all the time.

The only thing that I dont like about IPL devices is the progressively added costs of lamp replacements. How many charges has the lamp which comes with this device? What is the cost for replacement - especially in the long term?

I also tried One Touch Deluxe system, but I started with my legs - can't really give any feedback because both tips got bent waaay too quickly and replacements were not available at that time. So I ended up with Tria 4x and I am fairly happy with it :).

I read that if you're doing a small area like just the face
you don't need much replacement cartridges if any
Hopefully it works out like that because I just placed an order for the infinisilk
I was thinking about the tria but unfortunately its out of my price range
let me know how it goes !

I believeee the infini'silk's lamp is good for over 5,000 flashes. Uh oh! Sadly you can't replace the cartridges in the Infini'Silk, you can only replace cartridges in the Infini'Silk Pro, which is like $300 or so.

You can only use the Infini'Silk on an area every four weeks or so, using it more often than that will not give you any effects. Something about hair growing in different stages at different times.

Let's say you're treating only your face, arms, chest, and tummy (which is what I do), and it takes 53 flashes to treat your face, 160 flashes to treat your arms, and 88 flashes to treat your tummy and chest. Those are all estimated numbers by the way lol! Just guessing here.

That would be 301 flashes for one complete treatment every four weeks, which is roughly a month, so you would have about twelve treatments each year.
That's 3,612 flashes a year.

Meaning that the Infini'Silk will last you around 16-17 months, you'll just have to get a new one for $120 after that.
If you even need it, your facial/body hair will almost definitely be reduced to near nothing after you use the Infini'Silk until it finally dies.

I mean if you're living paycheck to paycheck like me and only make like $400 a month, this is a pretty good option if you can't afford to spend $300+ at once.

But if you're Ms. Moneybags and can afford to get one of those $500 home laser hair removal machines, go for it! Faster results, better results.
