I started one of these for female musicians, but we are all inclusive here. So, who're your favorite male Musicians? In no particular order, my top 5 are:

Les Claypool-Primus 'n' some other bands
Tom Waits
Geddy Lee-Rush
Syd Barrett-The Pink Floyd
Alice Cooper (before 1980)

What about you, who're your favorites?

Crap, only 5?  LOL

OK, at this moment in time, the 5 big ones that made me the guitar monstress that I currently am:

Jeff Beck - good luck on imitating him
Ritchie Blackmore - sick sense of melody, dynamics and flow
Jimi Hendrix - because Jimi rewrote the book on how it's done
Jimmy Page - he made me want to strap my guitar down to my knees
Michael Schenker - as Anvil put it, he's the Beethoven of heavy metal

You don't have to limit yourself to 5, that's just a place to start. I like your line up, Though, very cool!

Well let's see...if I were to make a guitarists only list it would pretty much mirror Jill's, and Maddy listed some of my favorites in Les Claypool, Tom Waits, and Geddy Lee, so I'll choose 5 different ones.

Dennis Chambers
John Coltrane
Eric Clapton
Randy Rhodes
Steve Harris - (Iron Maiden)

StrykerXIII

Rob Halford, K.K. Downing, Glenn Tipton...Randy Rhodes...Jimi Hendrix was the man who inspired me, another lefty, to pick up the guitar...Kurt Cobain...Ozzy...Phil Anselmo...um...hooboy. The list goes on.
To strive to reach the apex of evolution is folly, for to achieve the pinnacle is to birth a god.

When the Stryker fires, all turn to dust in its wake.

You mean besides being jazz fusion bassists?  The only thing I can think of is that Johnson, Willis, and Pastorius played with Allan Holdsworth, but I'm not sure if Eckhardt or Lefebvre ever did.  If I actually had any free time, I would ponder this question some more.

Hello Jake, how zit going. Hey I'd love to help but you got me puzzled a bit here. Could you define 'Bass singers' for me please, I'm not sure I know what those are... Cheers, Rose.
