I was just curious if anyone knew of any differences in the patches Climara and Estradot . I was just curious because  Estradot is a little cheaper.

To my knowledge estradot are small and kind of transparent. They are said to stick pretty well.
Climara are a little bigger and flesh coloured.

Well as far as I know they should be both effective...
but size plays a role if you are supposed to carry more than one... and stickyness... if they do not stick they are not as effective...
I saw some people using medical tape over some patches because they did not stick well enough...

Concerning effectiveness, your skin might play a role... you might look up possible spots and try them... buttocks, lower abdomen, and places on the arm is recommended by some as far as I remember, just look it up, its in the recommendations...  some people said upper buttocks was effective but a bit of a hassle...

I just looked up a study they did. There is no difference in delivery , so I guess I could go cheaper with an OZ product

Well concerning stickyness and size estradot should be a good choice...
and you might try a few spots where you have a feeling of best delivery.

Thanks, I've been using Climara for a long time and once in a while there is a problem due to sweat and adhesion . I'll give the OZ stuff a go. maybe I'll end up in Munchkin land or run into a brown sugar witch.

Yes, they are different brand names, so different manufacturers. In terms of effectiveness, as you found out, nope. However, I LOVE my Vivelle [which is the US version of Estradot, they're both by Novartis] because it's tiny and sticks a lot better, so you're in luck - the cheaper one is also better to use, IMO. :)

I've heard a lot of people say Climara has some trouble sticking, and it's b/c the adhesive is actually the delivery method for the estrogen; seems like Novartis cracked the secret of how to make that adhesive also *sticky* better than Bayer [Climara]. I've never had trouble with Vivelle sticking, though it does bunch up a tiny bit, and they've also been a heck of a lot more comfortable to wear. I was on the generic Climara for the first few months and those were terrible - huge and awkward and fell off constantly and gave me bad skin irritation.
