Hiya, basically I dressed up a little bit and took a couple of pictures. I'm really scared to post them because... well... it's the internet!! This would basically be me outing myself!!

I really don't know what to do, I want to post a couple of pictures because I want to hear people's opinions, but at the same time I don't want those pictures to fall in to the wrong hands!! Help please!! Any advice would be amazing!!

Posting anything on the internet is always a risk. Unless someone you know knows you have an account here, I wouldn't fret too much. If anything, if anyone that you know is browsing this site, they are most likely in a similar circumstance to you ;)

User discretion advised. Do what you think would be best for you, none of us can really tell you if you should or not.

couple of things to keep in mind:
1. if someone you know comes across the pic here...well then they were visiting the site, right? they would, in essence, be "outing" themselves to expose you.
2. depending on the makeup, no one would immediately identify it as being you (I am an example since I sure look very different in my guy mode)
3. you could post it for a while, then remove it. the images link from here, so if removed from where it is hosted, it won't appear here anymore. (avatar pics are the exception to this tho)

I always put my health above other concerns. So your outed if your transitioning how can you not be outed , unless you go from completely male to completely female and move to another planet.

The thing about them going on a photo site and then going on here is removing them from the photo removes them from here. It's true that they can still float around, but they are less likely too depending on the length of time they are up. Never feel like you have to put a photo up though if your not ready to. When if your ready to put a photo up you will be able to so don't rush yourself before your ready. Hugs

It doesn't really matter. I use photobucket personally because I can pull pictures directly from my facebook profile and it can upload from mobile devices, but whichever one works for you is what I would do. Hugs

You'd be surprised who wouldn't recognize you. I took a sort of glamour shot selfie (read as lots of makeup) as a girl the other day and showed it to my fiance. She said, "who's that?" and she already knows about me transitioning. If she didn't recognize me when she knows to look for it, I doubt anybody else would either. The same is probably true of you.

People don't even recognize me IRL now. There is a girl who started work when I did 8 years ago and she moved to a different department 2 months ago. I have to call her out before she even realizes it's me.

Possibly but I've not started transitioning at all yet - this is my first time even wearing a wig!! In the pictures I'm only wearing a little bit of mascara and lipstick so I'm probably quite recognisable... oh well, it's just a start!! ;)

Don't post it if you don't feel comfortable. There is no erase button on the Internet.
