Hello yall. I have a question. Does starting hrt help with hair growth? I've never been able to get mine to grow out very long before even though I love long hair.

Hi army4life99, welcome to Susan's. It an help with hair growth, but other things help and aid with that issue and it often takes a combination of things to achieve the growth a person wants if it's possible at all. I look forward to seeing you around the forums. Good luck and Hugs

Reducing T will help your existing hair and may help regrowth. I have had a lot of regrowth but I still need transplants.

Regrowth is entirely possible. I have lots of regrowth. Just make sure you mix hrt with a healthy diet, and drink lots of water. Also, along with regular hrt having a diet rich in phytoestrogens is nice along with organic Spearmint Tea.

Hi Army4life99;
I have been on a low dose HRT program for a little over 2 years and I have found I have had regrowth all over my MPB area , but not enough to cover it. Also my hair on my face (what I have left after all the Electrolysis) is very fine now and grows much slower. My body hair is also very soft and fine and grows very very slowly (I can manage 10 weeks between getting arms and legs waxed). My back hair has almost disappeared. What's left is very fine, almost blond. Similarly for my chest hair which is slowly going. My lower legs are now completely bare - only a stray hair and the upper legs and thighs are getting very sparse and also very soft and downy. One big thing is that my Pubic Hair has become very soft and downy and has thinned out into a female pattern (almost opposite of the male pattern). As with anything about HRT, Its takes time. My endocrinologist reckons I might be hair free on my body after about 5 years on HRT. Obviously I aim for a lot earlier with regular waxing and Laser (I am just starting a Laser program on my Underarms and Decollete.

I know this isn't a direct answer to your specifics in your question, but it is relevant. I lost all of my body hair except in the normal female places. My legs, arms and chest are all hairless and smooth.

I know you transitioned quite a while ago. How long did it take, Cindi? I've always suspected what you're saying. After almost 10 months my chest hair is pretty much invisible although I can still feel it.
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.
