I'm Dave, hispanic and FTM before the T. Right now I feel so much anxiety about not being able to be myself because of my body and my family. I wish I could even start dressing as a guy but when i do i dont even look like one. I have a very curvy body which makes my dysphoria even worst so I'm thinking about having a surgery for that in a few months before starting with the T.
Any advise on how to handle my dysphoria?

Welcome to Susan's Dave,

Good to have you here with us.

Not sure I can help you with your specific question, but just a thought you could buy loose fitting tops, baggy tee's are quite cool if you at all sporty?

For your Dysphoria many here can provide support and idea's, but if your are seeing a gender therapist, chat it over with them... but don't get overly upset yet, I am sure T will help when you get there.

Anyway to ease you in please take a look across the following

Hi Dave, welcome to Susan's. Yes, your post count needs to be 15 or above to send a pm. Depending how bad the curves are you might be able to use baggy clothes. I'm sure the guys will have better ideas around here though. I look forward to seeing you around the forums. Good luck and Hugs

I mean its not as easy as using baggy clothes. I've done that all my life cause i've never really felt comfortable in women's clothing. But i have big hips and behind which are very noticeable sadly.
Right now I'm going to a doc to loose weight and he suggested a surgery that would help with that once i've lost all the weight i need to. Problem is, its expensive and my family isnt really supporting apart from my mom, but only because she's obsessed with being thin

Well its possible you lose a bit if you work out a bit after hormones...
fat tissue is supposed to build down a bit and muslces build up...
so a healthy nutrition, not too much fat and sugar, or high sugar drinks, and a bit of exercise could help...
don't overdo it, a bit of a change should do...
maybe regularly taking a walk for half an hour... bicycling... or a few situps twice a day... etc...

you could try one or two pieces of darker colours for your outfit... not too dark it might affect mood, maybe wearing just one piece like a sweater... darker colours tend to hide surfaces...
and maybe a pair of trousers combined with a sweater one or two sizes bigger...
and you might try button down shirts, not fit into trousers but hanging down... that should help conceal hips...

Thanks for the suggestions Laura, i mean that's normaly what I do and it does help. Tho i dont work out that much cause of lack of time but I'm gonna try to squeeze in some time, as far as for my diet well I have a doc that gives me what i can eat and cant.
I have a high insuline problem so i try to stay as far way from sugar as possible, cause it makes me gain weight real fast. Tho i think this surgery is the very first step before getting on the T. It would help me with my dysphoria

I wouldnt exactly say I'm lucky. I mean I'm 5"2 and 167 pounds. I have the advantage of bien able to use jeans at work since I'm an engineer and work in industry and I usually go for the button down shirt but like i said i have big hips, legs and behind. Makes my disphoria so bad i cant even look in the mirror sometimes.
I try to eat healthy, like i said I'm with a doc to loose weight and all and I've lost around 39 pounds so far but still another 35 to go or so. The doc suggested the surgery but he doesnt know about my future transition to look like a guy. But from what he said and suggested it would help my disphoria. Im saving for it but it's still some months away, which only makes things harder.

Hey davealex, I hate to say it, bit the only thing that took care of curves was squats. Heavy weightlifting along with dieting. I've been out of the gym while moving, and my backside is showing it. Gotta put in the time, man.  Good luck!
