Hallo
Ive been binding for 6 months now, I have two binders, one I got 2 weeks ago and one I got in January. They are both from underworks, and one thing I've noticed about my old one which I wash every week or fortnight is now I can't get the stench out of it.

What can I do to make it smell better? I feel like puking whenever I smell it, and it's the only one I can wear during P.e. or on off days. I also don't want my newer one going like this

Also is there anything I can do to make them last longer or work better? Like adding starch?

Cheers, David

You could try soaking the old one in a solution of vinegar and water for a few hours before laundering. About 1c white vinegar to 5 gal water.

Wash them more often, every other day or so. Let them air dry outside whenever possible. The sun can do wonders.

LordKat has a good point about the sun. Ultraviolet rays are effective of killing some types of bacterias and molds. I'm not that familiar with binders, but i would think that they have washing directions when you get them. If not, you can call the company and ask if there is a safe, thorough way of washing them.

will washing the binders often make them weaker or wear them out?
cheers

Washing them regularly can actually lead to them lasting longer as the bacteria in them will break them down as well as cause the odor.  Over washing isn't great either, but more than a couple days of sweat isn't good for them.
