Scared of what I'll look like?

Story/question:

I have this cousin who when he was younger(before puberty) looked EXACTLY like me! We seriously looked like twins. It was scary and it wasn't just me who noticed it, everyone did. Anyway, then we grew up and went through puberty and now we look similar, but he looks a lot more masculine and hairy and muscular, etc., so it's not as evident. Since we looked so alike before, would you think it's a safe idea to bet that if I were to go on T that I would eventually look like him? I'm just trying to accurately visualize myself. I know that's it's pretty much impossible, but still.

I think it's possible that you'll look alike, but remember, transitioning is a process that pretty much leaves everything to our own imagination. And even when I know you'd like to know how you are going to look, I think the joy is in how comfortable you'll feel in your own skin after transitioning.

That was very comforting, thank you. :) And I suppose you're right. I guess I'll just have to see for myself!

Well, I look like my elder sister!!
We both think it is really funny. We even have similar hairstyles and I hadn't seen her for 30 years before I transitioned!

I actually turned out looking a lot like my maternal grandfather in his teenage years; we found that out when my mom looked at an old class of '64 alumni photo of him, and compared it to current pics of me. Pretty interesting stuff! I bet it's pretty common for us to find someone in our family we look a lot alike, just like how siblings can share very close facial features, or how you can often immediately see who a kid looks more like if you see their parents.
