Pretty bloody happy about this.
As some know, I was a photographer for News Ltd before running my own photo lab (print shop) and then selling up and semi-retiring (well bought a 3rd house and renting 2 of them out).
Anyway Mum has been bugging me about work, telling me that I'll get bored and so on, just being a mum really.
A few weeks ago I was asked to give a talk to my old photography college, basically it was about how I got into photojournalism, what it takes and showed my body of work.
The head of the college and I went out for lunch after it and we got to talking, one of the teachers was moving on and they are looking for someone to do 2 days a week.
He said that he'll love for me to apply and it'll go to the directors who will do the interviews and so on.
I thought about it and applied, it won't be too hard and it'll be fun.
So today, I got a call, they loved me and want to teach a photojournalism course. They sent through the course outline and are giving me the rest of this term to write out the course plan. This will be paid and then the last term of this year I'll be sitting in on classes and next year be teaching 2 days a week.
I'm scared but at the same time so happy.
