Scarring?

I just noticed some scarring around my injection sites, and was wondering if there was anything I could do to prevent or lessen the scarring?  I switch up my leg each week, but I guess that doesn't help much.

I was told not only to switch legs, but try to inject in different area as well if that make any sense.

Laura_7

You could try to not stand on that leg while injecting... kind of relaxing it...

you could use something like cicaplast after the wound has closed some...

Switch legs, inject in different sites, use a smaller needle, inject less often. I think that is all that will help you  :)

I agree with everyone above, switch areas to inject in. It can also be very painful injecting into where there is scar tissue. Maybe try rubbing and massaging some cocoa butter on the area daily to see if that will help. Massaging it might help break up the tissue a bit.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno.

You might want to consider Subq injections.  Since you are injecting into fat, scar tissue isn't an issue.

Although Sub-q is a good alternative but not everywhere you can get sub-q.  From my healthcare provider, my only options were IM injection or Androgel.
I've always wonder why so many guys choose to do weekly injections.  I understand the T-level fluctuation and mood swings.  I'm NOT terrorized at needles but I'd rather poke myself 26 times a year instead of 52 because I know this is for the rest of my life.  Injection every 2 weeks just makes more sense to me.  Thoughts?

Mood swings, and it's easier to remember weekly injections. I'll admit that when I get overwhelmed (still happens a lot), then I sometimes wish I were on biweekly shots. But smoothing out my mood makes weekly injections worthwhile. Besides, I don't expect to inject for the rest of my life; I'm hoping that the United States eventually approves implants.

With biweekly injections there is a high level in the beginning and a low in the last few days. This could make for mood swings and other reactions.

For example collegepharmacy has an exhaustive catalog with detailed descriptions, there are even training vids for docs/endos.
There is further material on the internet, for med personnel.

I know what you guys mean about the mood swing, because the 4-5 days before my next shot, I'd feel less energetic, just don't feel like doing anything lol but then again, because I understand it's the result of low T level in my body.  Other than that, I didn't really feel any other type of affect.

Also, I put my injection day in the calendar on my phone, automatically repeats every 2 weeks, so i never miss a shot lol.

Subq is supposed to last over 8 days.  You take your shot every 7 days.  I used to feel a drop in energy the day before, but that only lasted for a couple of months after I got up to therapeutic levels.  I will say that I sometimes feel irritable on the day or two mid cycle when your T level is supposed to be at it's highest.

I'm quite aware of why my mood was troughing...I was talking about why I inject every week, to avoid that dip in mood.

True; I keep forgetting this because I wasn't able to get them. I ought to have said that I hope that implants become widely available. As far as I know, only one company puts out this type of pellet, and practically nobody uses it. However, now that I am out of that horrible clinic, I should ask my health care provider. Who knows; I might get lucky. And it would be nice if the implants lasted for as long as a 10-ml vial plus refill...I'd have to see the doctor only once in a blue moon.

With pellets its sometimes simply necessary to tell docs/endos, and provide materials so they can use them.
Here are some pointers:
https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,192044.msg1713877.html#msg1713877

For testo there are sheets with exact pellet implant dosages for med personnel.
testo implants are supposed to last about half a year, depending on metabolism.

I inject weekly because of the hormonal fluctuations.  Even doing it once a week, I can tell the difference between the troughs and the peaks.  I have been on 10 for 10 months, so I'm going through the big changes right now.

There's also the issue of amount.  You are injecting 2x(ish) as much at a time, which is harder on the area, both volume-wise and having to soak it up and process it all.
