Hi girls, guys and other! So what are my 3 big firsts that happened today?
Well after 18 months of lurking in the guest-zone and getting courage and inspiration from all of you, I have finally registered with Susans! Yay!
I have been putting it off for a long time but have taken the plunge and I would like to say "Hi!" and a big thank you to you all, for all the advice and support that you have contributed on this forum.
There are so many people all over the globe who don't have access to information or safe environments, ( for the last several years I didn't) and so Susans really does provide a wonderful haven for us all, even if they are just guests and don't post that doesn't mean they don't love and value this community.

Anyhow after being in a not-so-safe area ( read lethal) area of the world for lgbt people, I am back in my home country of the UK.
I have moved to a new city, nottingham, and am trying to get all the official transition stuff done privately but still haven't come out to my parents yet. However I am blessed to have a wife who has been supportive and 2 small kids who don't really care. I am only in male clothes outside the house and when parents come to visit.
That is until today...
Yep, that's right guys, gals and other! I was due to go into the city centre today and much to my wife's astonishment I decided to leave the male act out altogether and go out as myself!
I persuaded her to bring the kids and come with me, so we went via public transport. It was super busy in town and I had a few mild anxiety /panic attacks and was generally scared witless, but we spent 2 hrs walking around through malls, streets and shops...
And nobody gave a damn. Seriously. I got one or two lingering looks from a few women but that was it. The angry mob with pitchforks and torches never materialised. Which was nice.
So that is 2 down, the last big thing?
Weeeeellll... it couldn't all be perfect could it

I went into Specsavers to pic out some more feminine frames, asked a male employee, who gendered me correctly to his female colleague ( even though it was on the other side of the shop). However when she came to assist me she misgendered me several times.
Unsurprisingly this was pretty upsetting, but I didn't burst into tears or flip a table, but I ignored her and left a bit later. So yeah it sucked, but it's happened now and will surely happen again and will probably suck then too!
But... thanks to the love and support of my wife and also the stories and advice from all of you, I feel I can say confidently
"Screw her! I am a beautiful person and I AM a woman"
