Trinidad and Tobago (where I was born) is having a general election soon. The current Prime Minister, Honorable Kamla Persad Bissessar, has been campaigning hard and is projected to win by a number of people.

She has kind of dodged the question on LGB rights when asked and nobody except me has asked her about T rights. She did say she would respect the rights and dignity of all citizens.

But I saw this in the Party manifesto:

"7. Human RightsThe People's Partnership is committed to all citizens enjoying equal human rights under the law and to ensuring that there is no discrimination on the basis of race, religion, gender, place of residence, political affiliation or sexual orientation."

This to me is very positive.

I hope she wins another term and I hope she is able to make some positive change.
