"WARNING: If you still have not watch Pretty Little Liars' A-mazing summer finale and do not want to know the identity of 'A', get out of here! For everyone else, get ready for some answers...

'A' has been exposed!

On Tuesday night's jaw-dropping summer finale, Pretty Little Liars gifted fans with a jam-packed hour that answered (most of!) the biggest mysteries of the series. But the biggest reveal of the night? Learning that 'A' -- aka Charlies DiLaurentis -- is actually CeCe Drake."

Pretty Little Liars Transphobic Writing Is Hackneyed, Harmful

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/brynn-tannehill/pretty-little-liars-trans_b_7979754.html?utm_hp_ref=transgender

The Huffington Post/Brynn Tannehill     08/12/2015
Director of Advocacy, SPARTA

"For six seasons, the ABC Family tween-drama Pretty Little Liars has been leading up to a reveal of who the hiding-in-plain-sight-all-along arch-villain was. Wednesday, the show revealed the psychotic antagonist to be Charlotte "CeCe" DiLaurentis.

Born Charles DiLaurentis. Who is crazy, and transgender, and crazy because they're transgender and spent time in an asylum because they're crazy. Because transgender. While the show's producers have done a hand wave saying that CeCe comes from a crazy family and that all this has nothing to do with her being transgender, this claim is simply not credible. The rest of the "crazy" family aren't doing the things that make CeCe the "Big Bad" of the show."

I love, love, love Brynn Tannehill. I'm really glad she's on our side.

The show Ugly Betty did the same thing. For the first season we knew some sinister sociopath was ruining everyone's lives behind the scene. Turned out to be a transgender woman. Ugh.

Thanks for posting this, Stephanie.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

I watched the show religiously for the first few seasons, and am planning to catch up when I get some extra time - I don't want to be too spoiled, so I'm purposefully not reading the article yet. I will say that IMO they've done right by the LGB community in past seasons.

I think shows bring a lot of value when they can show that sexuality or gender identity are not the most important things about the characters. PLL has done that with past characters, and I'm willing to see how the trans twist plays out.
