I had a laproscopic hysterectomy two weeks ago with Dr. Yvonne Gomez-Carrion at Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center in Boston and just wanted to recommend her to anyone in the area.  She has been doing hystos for trans men for about 9 years now and she and her staff are well trained and very respectful.  She has a great bedside manner, and will write you a letter for changing your documents if you need one.  I can try and answer any questions about my experience as well.

Ktrif,
thanks for the information. i'm sure there are members in the area or within a reasonable distance searching for a surgeon.

The nice thing about getting an OVH, is that most surgeons can do it since its a procedure that is done frequently in cis women for various reasons. That doesn't mean they won't be nasty if they know why though, and having a surgeon who is fine with transgenders is great.

I had mine done through the vagina, no scars, but had a surgeon who considered ->-bleeped-<- a mental illness and made no bones about it. It would have been nice to have a surgeon who understood.

Couldn't agree with you more sam1234. Finding a good trans friendly GYN is just about the best dr you can have,  when we need our extra parts looked at or removed.  There are ways to exam us and do surgery that do not cause us extra pain and problems afterwards.

I had one from her quite a few months ago as well. She's great.
