Binders and tank tops

I have some really awesome tank tops and I love wearing them during the summer but I can only wear them at home because my binder shows. It bugs me a lot and makes me dysphoric because the only reason I can't wear them is because of my stupid chest. Is there a way to alter them so that my binder doesn't show? Or a way to alter my binder so it doesn't show? I suck at sewing but my lady friend is pretty good at it. Any tips?

I'm afraid I can't help with sewing, but I know lots of guys who wear an undershirt tank under normal tanks, wearing two tanks isn't exactly strange. Some binders may not look enough like another shirt but some look enough like one that it's fine if it shows. But I totally understand if your dysphoria won't allow that, just an idea.

What is it that bothers you about your binder showing? Layering tank tops isn't unpopular, and that's what it looks like when a binder shows.

I wouldn't try this with your favorite binder, but there may be a way to shape your binder by removing some of the material that goes under your arms. The part that would show in a tank top.

The other thing to do if you want a summer shirt is to cut the sleeves off a T shirt. That gives you a muscle shirt without the danger of exposing your binder when you lean over.

Either way, there are some restrictions with binders. You might try googling specialty shops that may have different binders that are flesh colored and don't have a material look to them.

You could Google around and see if you can order Fruit of the Loom tanktops from somewhere. I don't know how it is over there but we've got a lot of bands and such that use those shirts and I can just order plain tanktops (and such) from that brand.

They've got both tanktops as singlets. Their singlets cover my binder completely (Lesloveboat binders) and did the same for my partner (tritops). I've been wearing them for the past few weeks at work without any worries or someone making a remark about it. And layering tanktops definately isn't a thing here so someone would comment if they would notice.

Nathan has a good point. Also, tank tops differ in how low the material under the arm goes. Some tank tops are so loose they go halfway down your side. Try one that is high up.
