Well, you get what you pay for when it comes to electrolysis!

StartingOver

Fired my electrologist today.  (Er, well, I mean I'm not going back.)  After ten hours with this new girl, I'm done.  For two hours today, she literally plucked out every hair she touched.  Every.  Single.  One.

Why did I go to her in the first place?  I'd recently moved and needed a new electrologist, and she was cheap.  Like $30 per hour cheap.  I thought I'd give her the benefit of the doubt and stick with her for a few sessions; thought that she might have taken a little while to figure out what my pain threshold was, what settings were best etc.  But after ten hours, the fact that she was still plucking every single hair - like there is no way on earth she could have not felt the resistance! - means that I'm done.  Parts of my face she had cleared once before regrew exactly the same as before.

I did go and see a far more expensive (and far more experienced - but $80 per hour) electrologist yesterday, and every hair slid out with zero resistance.  This is how electrolysis should be, by the way.  Wonderful!  Worth every last dollar.  Extremely professional, efficient, and I am confident that those hairs aren't coming back anytime soon.  Slow, but at least it's progress.

So while I love paying only $30 per hour, sticking with the cheap girl would lead me to paying $30 and $30 and $30 and $30 and $30 and $30 to clear an area, while the $80 girl would do the same work in one go, far quicker and more cheaply than the incompetence I've already wasted money on.

Oh well.
