Hi all
Does anyone know of any good exercise routines uknow, to lose the belly, slim down, lose weight etc but as a male wanting to look as feminine as possible, definitely don't want to gain any muscle tone. Don't want any square edges or ripples & I'm just nicely rounded atm but wanna lose my pot.  Cant do much more with dieting (though going well) down to 77kg.
Just want something I can do at home, not go out doors, or to a gym.   Don't really want to buy $$$ of equipment (haven't go the room anyway)
P.S. Not started any HRT as yet.
Thanks.  8)

In general, lots of cardio. While there are a number of Youtube videos that show body weight training that doesn't use any gear. I think a wise investment would be to seek out a good personal trainer of your real gender and hire them for one or two sessions in order to develop proper form and a good workout. Be honest with them, a good one will guide you.

Cardio is the ticket.  I have actually lost some upper body muscle since I started walking 45 minutes every morning on my treadmill -- and I lost my gut.  Wearing cute exercise shorts, tank tops and sports bras is all the motivation I needed.

If you are short on dough, try to find some cheap exercise DVD's in the discount stores, or use the videos on Youtube.  I strongly recommend buying a stepper of some kind, and some small weights in the 5-10 pound range, either hand weights or the strap on kind.  These will help you burn lots of additional calories during cardio without adding muscle mass.

As one note back when I was into weight lifting (while I had not known of my being transgender), gaining muscle mass was about extremely low cardio (before the work out no more than 20 minutes light jog), light stretching, and when working out, using higher weight and lower repetitions, also avoiding to stretch between sets.
So in the sense in my thinking and logic thereof of a biological standpoint and my knowledge with weights...
High cardio (warm up about 30 minutes before a work out, and another 30 minutes after the work out), stretching is key here, before starting a weighted regime get a good stretch going, as well as between sets stretch again to keep the muscles from condensing  and getting blocky when they heal up, and while working out doing your exercises, you will want to do lower weight and higher repetitions per set. Also a good idea is to continue to do light stretches while in recovery mode.

I am no personal trainer but have a solid idea on the do's to weight training for both gaining pure muscle mass as well as lean muscle mass. If you have any questions feel free to let me know here, I can check back if necessary, or also send me a personal message.

Edit; this offer for questions about a workout regime is for anyone interested in it.

Hi Brenna,
I recently consulted a sports physiologist and a doctor about how to loose weight without gaining muscle mass.
I was told almost word for word this:

My physio advised adding some step up exercises and bridging as they tone the bottom, thighs, and tummy. Yoga and Pilates are great exercises too.

Good luck,
Bobbi.

Good exercises that condition the bottom, thighs and core are squats, lots of squats, step ups are also good, stair climbers, mountain climbers, burpees..  There are a ton of different exercises you can do. Just these are some of the better ones.

Thanks so much everyone, and yeah love that idea about the cute training outfit, I have a discarded pink & blue high cut one piece from the 80's I could wear ;D
My legs are almost perfect the way they are so don't want to change them, just if I could lose my slight pot belly, everything else not to bad shoulders not too wide, arms fairly ... well not too muscley I guess.  Overall not bad for non HRT.  When I get into my corset, I look pretty hot (body wise) then my belly ozes out the bottom part like I'm pregnant.   ::)
But yeah I'll start on those mentioned above.

P.S. Dont know if you've heard of, but I have started some XBX, its a training routine by the Royal Canadian Air Force for women invented 50 years ago. All floor stuff, running on spot etc.
