So it occurred to me today while out and about running errands and grocery shopping that carrying and handling a purse has become quite second nature to me. When I was beginning transition this item was definitely one that I had difficulty with and not to mention the right style and size. It always seem  to wanna slip off my shoulder and fall down. Now I can sling that thing on and it goes nowhere and can whip out my clutch like a pro and put it back as fast. I used to think why women take so long to pick one out, Now I know it does matter size and color and how much stuff you accumulate in one. I wouldnt trade it for wallet at any cost now. ;D ;D ;D ;D So how do you girls feel about it now? Are you comfortable with it and how many do you own now? I have about 10 but mainly wear the one since its my favorite.
In my imagination I see a fair world,
Everyone lives in peace and in honesty there.
I dream of souls that are always free,
Like the clouds that fly,
Full of humanity in the depths of the soul.

I really like the one that I have that fits an iPad. That's my favorite but I haven't been carrying the iPad this summer so I'm using a very old (but still in great shape) black cross shoulder bag I used many, many years ago. The one thing that is great about this bag is that a wallet is built into the side so I get a twofer.

This summer, I've been looking for something different. I want something really cute and I keep gravitating to solid colors. Sometimes I think I'm so boring!

This is where my tactifoolishness comes in. I use this.

I originally got one for my wife in ACU pattern to match with her uniform and gear bag, but that would have been a bit much for me, so I got black. ironically, all of my other gear is black too, so it all matches.

It's always been backpacks for me - now they are simply cuter and maybe less functional, but big enough to fit in Galaxy Tab 10.5 inch tablet,  bluetooth keyboard, cellphone, wallet, water bottle, hair brush, a couple of pens, paper notebook, stylus, Cleenex and daily cream/eye balm bottles. They also fit perfectly into front basket of my Gazelle bike.

I love fashion design!  I have some practical leather ones that are actually useful, as well as a really nice Dooney and burk spring bag.  But I ( and my wife helps) have been collecting prom, wedding, fancy beaded bags from the 1950's and sixty's.  Most are heavy silk bodies with glass beads sewn over the top.  I have never found two identical designs. Most were made in the south asian areas and are of a quality that could not be commercially reproduced today.  I have close to a hundred, though I think of them in square feet.  I intend to do an entire wall in back of my bed with them all displayed as a design/collection.  That with a Victorian painted iron bed.  I love girlly girl spaces.

Using a purse was one of the more difficult things I had to get use to when I went full time.. NOw I dunno how I lived without the thing.

Its so handy to carry things around, womens clothing generally has less or smaller pockets than mens clothes, so a purse was necessary.

I have 5 purses, two everyday ones and 3 clutch purses. My everyday purses are sling purses.
Enjoying ride the hormones are giving me... finally becoming the woman I always knew I was

Haha awesome thread!! I've had a purse/handbag since I was little lol. The thing though, when I started driving I would constantly forget it on top of my car. School books and being excited to drive, I'd just forget it and it would either fall off and I'd have to stop, or some guy would yell that I forgot my bag on the roof.lol oh well live and learn,..
I have prob a dozen or more now. I like my junky ones for high-crime areas lol, and Coach for work, and tiny ones for vacations, and evening bags. I normally work out of two tho--my good work purse and the junky one that can get stolen and I won't care.lol

Backpacks are my thing too - I prefer the feeling of having it there, as well as I think it makes you less lopsided after a time,  ;D , and I carry lots of things by force of habit and wanting to be prepared.

And just today I bought another one - leathery cobalt blue with golden zippers. I guess, this will be my last backpack for now (but probably most favourite), also my BFF said that having three backpacks is enough and I should consider changing my style :D.

I've had a couple purses, but have been using my current one for the longest time now. It's a pretty big purse which I love because I keep a lot in there. I have normal stuff like keys, wallet phone, pens etc. Then I also have an umbrella, a sweater, copy of my name change papers, toy trains, baby wipes, my son's sweater, diapers in my son's size and my BFF's son's size. My BFF gave me a very confused look when we were shopping and she had forget diapers and I had some of hers from when I had babysat. Sometimes I also fit my iPad in there too.
