No fat re-distribution

So, I'm almost 2.5 years on T and so far my fat has not re-distributed. At all. Am I really one of the unlucky guys to not see a change at all?

I can safely say I tried it all. I tried dieting to work it all off. But only when I became underweight my thighs were acceptable. When I went back to a normal weight the thighs and butt just came back like nothing ever changed. I do sports like running and training my upper body. Still, my thighs seem to have this damn feminine shape to them. It's not enough to get me misgendered, but whenever I look into a mirror it bugs me.

I know that due to female puberty, I have more fat cells in the hips, and they will not leave by natural means. So....Will I have to retort to liposuction? Will the fat distribution not happen after 2.5 years on T?

I feel really bummed about this. It's a major dysphoric trigger for me :(

Some of that may be underlying skeletal structure maybe? Just a thought.

I think it could be like you said, that's just wear your major fat stores are. I have the same problem, except mine are in my flanks/love handles. I'm only a year on T, but I've seen only change when I dropped bodyfat %. As soon as I gain a bit of weight it comes right back. I'm probably going to have lipo, I'd rather those fat cells be removed completely so I don't have to worry about it.

The general thing I hear about fat redistribution and facial hair is to give it up to 5 years to occur. Male puberty typically lasts for about 4 years, and that is essentially what we put our bodies through. At the end of that time, you'll probably have gotten all the possible changes you can get and then it'll be time to consider interventions like liposuction.

Fat cells live 10 years ... so it took 10 years to reorder these cells.

Infinite Recursion

My doctor told me fat redistribution is one of the changes that takes the longest to occur, so don't feel discouraged yet. Most of my friends suggest doing more upper body workout, that'll give you a more masculine physique, which sort of makes the hip area appears to have less fat

Thanks for the replies, guys. It's clear that I probably need a lot more patience. It's just that whenever I watch transition videos on youtube, most of them start reporting fat changes from a few months to a year in. So yeah, that left me wondering.

I'm just gonna try and save up for lipo, in case it will be needed in a year or so. And if not, then I got some money saved for other things, which is a win-win situation.

Have you considered a more vegetarian diet ?
Quite a few vegetables consist mostly of water.
Apples for snacks for example.

And if fats then healthy ones... instead of artificial ones...
like olive oil... and small amounts of butter...

Its a change in nutrition... more vegetables... cutting out high sugar drinks...
instead drinking water or fruit juices...

I can't go vegetarian as I need the proteins from meat to build up some muscle.
Right now, my diet is already quite healthy. Minimum carbs, a lot of vegetables, meat, eggs, nuts and some fruits. And I never drink sugar. My drinks are a diet soda, water, coffee or tea. I don't even drink fruit juices because there's usually quite a bit of sugar in there. So no, can't be a change in diet. When I say I tried it all, I tried it -all- :P

Well there is still room for a few trials...
there is a lot of protein in vegetarian sources also. You can look it up, lentils for example, and I'd consider eggs also a good source.
The body processes intake from non vegetarian sources differently imo.
If you picture vegetarians they are often very lean types. Its simply that the body does not build up as much fat imo.
I felt a huge difference.
Its still possible to gain muscle though.
And fresh fruit juices, selfmade, maybe even organic, are an excellent source of nutrition.
As said in another thread, together with a bit of oil, the body can process vitamins much better.
So eating together a roll with a bit of butter... or a roll with eggs might be an idea.
Nuts are a source of fat... just important to remember...
I'd prefer healthy fats like olive oil...

baseline is with a more vegetarian nutrition it might simply be possible to shed more fat or weight.
If there is enogh protein intake, which the body should signal also by a craving, there should be a buildup of muscles possible.

I'd also cut down a bit on coffee and black tea. which have imo non beneficial side effects.
