I regret posting this topic but I think spiro is making me constipated all the time since my dose was increased.  Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do about it?

Have you increased your water intake since the dose was upped?  It helps to keep yourself from getting dehydrated. Me, I only get constipated if I take pain pills too long.

I noticed something of the sort. My doctor thought I was imagining it - he hadn't heard of any such thing.

Fiber intake - that's the solution.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

My girlfriend is on Spirolactone for PCOS treatment...hasn't affected her that way. May be a case-by-case basis.
To strive to reach the apex of evolution is folly, for to achieve the pinnacle is to birth a god.

When the Stryker fires, all turn to dust in its wake.

Hydration is the key.  I take pain meds as well for CFS/ME and if I don't keep my fluids topped up throughout the day I really pay for it later.

I'm gonna try olive oil and lemon juice.  That's suppose to be a natural laxative .

Hey Amy, I too suffered from the same affliction. I was convinced it was from the spiro and I increased my hydration and things seem to be moving along just fine now. :)

Holy cow so that's why I've been so constipated lately.

Drink a lot of water, fiber and chia. Chia helps because it absorbs water.

I drink plenty of fluids.  I'm starting to think it could be related to hormones and not spiro.  I can tell my T has dropped a lot and metabolism has slowed so maybe my body just needs to adjust.

I had the same thing for awhile.   I did increase my water intake (I've always been bad about that anyway).

After awhile it seemed to go away and everything is normal now.   Could be my body just needed to adjust.

I had this problem as well - staying more hydrated and eating more fiber seemed to do the trick.

Interestingly, I had the opposite issue. I was in the bathroom for #2 (on top of the visits for #1) several times a day for the first few weeks.
