"The Labour leadership frontrunner has said he would consider women only train carriages, in a bid to stop sexual harassment and assaults."

I agree more needs to be done, to prevent people from being harrased just for exspressing themselves, but.....

woman only bus, means woman only bus stops and those areas would just become a hunting ground.
this is the same for any form of segrigation. gender, sex, presentaional and so on.

Doing this type of thing in hopes to prevent woman from having to go a longer way home wouldnt change a thing, in fact it would only highlight a spacific area to avoid, the man streets, the man stops ect.

In affect all this would do is, put guidlines on allready applied harassment avoidence stratagies. And these stratagies only work aswell as they do because, no body knows that womans longer route, alternate rout, safer rout.

Forgive me for my use of woman and man avoidence in what i say, but... the same rules apply to transpeople aviding phobes, homosexuals avoiding phobs, in fact any kind of person having to change their behaviors to avoid any form of harament this applied to.

This realy wouldnt help and just cerate known places a type of persons targents would be found.

That won't stop anything. In some countries there are gender specific transportation. In those countries there is no change or there is an increase in attacks on women. To decrease these attacks, we need to teach the children of today (boys) to respect women and use the old manners that my generation was taught, but not necessarily pass on to our kids.
