Trans former Olympian Caitlyn Jenner is going to feature on South Park.

The star will receive the cartoon's treatment in the upcoming season 19 premiere on Comedy Central.
South Park will take on the issue of being transgender in general, as well as specifically Jenner's story.

Looks like this could be a fun episode.

I doubt it.

From the episode description, it sounds like they're mainly going to be poking fun at "SJW"s and political correctness, with Caitlyn Jenner as the catalyst which gets the boys in trouble for making transphobic jokes or something.

We'll see, but last year doesn't make me optimistic. They basically took on the whole trans* bathroom debate as "who cares? Just do what you want to do," and then as soon as they were praised by the trans* community for that episode, on the very next episode they retaliated by having Nathan raped by a trans woman.

South Park completely doesn't give a s***. They've made fun of EVERYONE over the years, and refuse to be held in high esteem by any political or social movement. So I'm just assuming there's zero chance of this being a "trans people are totally okay" thing. There's going to be transphobic jokes. The only question is whether the episode is going to try and defend itself for making them or not.

In the long term, it is a good news, as it will promote public education on transgender people.

Just do it.

Don't bet on it. To those familiar with South Park, you've seen how they portrayed the teacher Mr. Garrison when he/she had SRS and acted afterward to become Mrs. Garrison. It was pretty disgusting, graphic and vulgar. Public education is the last thing on Matt Parker or Trey Stone's mind (the show creators) in regards to South Park. I used to watch the early seasons, but the show has just become too over the top and vulgar, just for the sake of being vulgar. No wit, humor, or education involved. Much like watching scantily clad young women grind around, lip-sync on stage and talk about illicit drug use while claiming to be pop stars. I'll pass.

The trans-bathroom episode was HILARIOUS and incredibly well done. I'm looking forward to the upcoming "jenner" episode.

It's misleading to suggest that jokes made at the expense of trans people constitutes "wrath" or "transphobia". If we stop looking for enemies where none exist, our lives might get just a teensy bit brighter.
Exceptions to the norm do not constitute a spectrum.

I love South Park.

I think Family Guy outted jenner before she came out.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno.

I love South Park, too. I remember taping (VHS) the very first episode because I was working second shift then, and wasn't going to be home in time to see it.

Being able to laugh at yourself is a difficult thing. Some people never learn how to do it. But it is one of the most important things you can learn to do in this life.

I also agree with Matt, being left out isn't equality. If you want to be accepted as equal, you also have to accept the same treatment as everyone else. Sometimes the joke's on you. Laugh at it with everyone else.

It's a stupid show anyway.

In case anyone is interested, the episode wasn't really about Caitlyn Jenner, it was basically just about political correctness. Mostly it was just South Park making fun of people who take PC a bit too seriously. The town's opinions on Caitlyn Jenner were just one thing among many that triggered the PC alarms and got people in the town in trouble with the PC crowd that moved in.

watched it yesterday, pretty much just implies anyone that sticks up for trans is a white cis "bro" and not only do you have to refer to caitlyn as female, you always have to say she is a hero and stunning or the white cis people will check your privilege (do something to thats implied worse than causing dysphoria on someone else)
I will touch a 100 flowers and not pick one.

Oh well, I bet Caitlyn doesn't care about it, or maybe she's flattered just like with her halloween costume.

Melanie, I'm going to presume that you didn't express yourself properly and that you accidentally typed/referred to Jenner with an insulting non gendered pronoun. Regardless, I have fixed it.

:police:
However, I will say to anyone who wants to misgender Jenner or use words like "it" to refer to her will be placed on moderation.

What did I write? I thought I wrote she... I'm sorry for writing anything else I didn't mean to really. I don't think I ever used "it" at all o.O This is weird, I am losing it maybe lol

I mean meh. I have my own opinions about Cait and to be honest I'm distancing myself from her.

But she deserves respect and I just hope that South Park did a good job at least. I wasn't happy about how they treated Mr/Ms Garritson when he/she transitioned.

No problem, I presumed innocence! :)

Yes, that was appalling.

Yeah, the Garrison treatment was a bit much.

I didn't really get offended so much by the episode, it seemed Caitlyn was more the McGuffin and the theme was about overbearing SJWs that want to destroy anyone that doesn't regurgitate the party-approved line word for word.

Heck like Kate, I'm not exactly a fan of her either.

Serenation

2nd episode out, in which Caitlyn is not just mentioned but a character in the show (though briefly), it was very personal towards her this time, focusing on her ability to drive a car and facial surgery.

I watched it and it was over the top South Park as usual. They didn't really insult Cait, just kind of insinuated that it's OK to bash her.

I'm still burned at that, "You're not a woman, you're just a man with a mutilated penis," line from their Mrs. Garrison's transition episode. That was the moral of the episode. And they made her act like such a ->-bleeped-<- throughout it.

These guys hide behind concepts of free speech, but I've had that line thrown back at me by hateful people, and IMO they are creating justifications for people to express their hate.
