Hi everyone.  I'm really glad to have found Susan's!!  I would like to share an experience with you.  Recently, I spent an evening with my SO (woman) in Castro District dressed up.... mini skirt, blouse, heels and tights.  NO make up and no wig.  My intention wasn't to impersonate a woman.  I just wanted to dress in drag.  I had the most wonderful time.  Lots of people didn't even notice and those who did (male and female) were very accepting, and encouraging.  Had a couple of "nice legs" comments from several women.  I went to a restaurant, several bars, people watched, went to Starbucks and into a book store. This was such a addicting experience that I want to do this again and again.  Anyone ever had a similar experience?   I realize that I'm never going to pass a woman and actually have given up trying.  For me, going out in drag as a man seems to be a natural and non stressful way of getting out.  I just wanted/want to be me.  Anyone else had a similar experience?  I really look forward to hearing from you. Welcome to Susan's Place. Not really. My first visit to San Francisco was after I transition and there is no other town like San Francisco. I was a bit shocked on my first visit to see two guys hugging each other while they walked down the street. I have made many friends in the gay community after that visit and I am no longer shocked by something like that.

While my goal has always been to pass, I have been living for many years in complete comfort as a woman. I wouldn't say it was addicting but it is comfortable and natural. The way things should be.

On this board our goal is to help people find happiness and it seems like you are on your way. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help you.

Once (sorta)... attended a Halloween party dressed as a cheerleader (skirt, sweater, hosiery, tennis shoes, and make-up no wig).  After the costume contest (which I won?!) I took off the makeup.  Most of the attendees changing out of their costumes but I didn't bring other clothes... So I just went like that.  Perfect date to be out in a skirt as a guy and I got lots of compliments.  I had a blast and I felt some comfortable that I didn't want to change out of the outfit at the end of the night.

I have to say though that some of my favorite times dressing at home are when I pull on some pantyhose and a skirt and leave my guy t-shirt on.  I don't dress the pass as a woman, I dress to express all of me.  So I completely get where you are coming from.  Sounds like a great night out! Hopefully your SO had a great time too!
Happily married CD, out to my wife and select friends.

Thanks for your thoughts.  It was really an enjoyable experience.  Based on now two outings, I feel as though I am much more accepted as a guy dressed in drag.  Yuko
