Rowan County, Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis has become the face of resistance to the recent Supreme Court's ruling legalizing marriage for same-sex couples on par with different-sex couples throughout the United States. Only hours after the Court's ruling in June, Davis ordered her staff to stop issuing marriage licenses. Though she has been charged with a court order, through her lawyers she expressed her belief that granting marriage licenses to same-sex couples "irreparably and irreversibly violates her conscience" because it goes against her religious beliefs. She stated that she fears going to Hell for violating "a central teaching" of the Bible if she were to comply with the Supreme Court's decision.

It is so sad that as many people are coming to understand that transpeople are humans too as well as all LGBTQIA, that certain groups, especially evangelical Christians cry out to discriminate against people by crying out that they are being discriminated against.

But it takes even subtler shades. Sad to say, even in my own family. My son who was well on his way to earning Eagle Scout now has decided he doesn't like Boy Scouts anymore because of their decision to allow local decision on whether to allow gay leaders. He's decided that he's not going to go for Eagle because of his displeasure with the accommodation. So instead of doing something which would improve his life, give him certain advantages, he's going to shoot himself in the foot, so to speak. And where did he get these ideas, from our church. Unfortunately, years ago when we married my wife wasn't such a fanatical Christian, but over the years, and as she learned I was trans-gender, she's become more and more entrenched and has affiliated with more conservative churches, which I've absolutely refused to join. Bur unfortunately, my son has fallen under their sway of claims of religious persecution and to stand up for God's way. The whole argument is ludicrous.

Tonight I'm going to find some Girl Scout cookies and when I'm eating them and he asks for one, I'm going to have to ask him,, isn't that supporting the Girl Scout's decision to allow gay leaders and even transgender girls and see what he has to say and maybe open up some discussion.

(Sorry about the rant .)

Your rant is entirely understandable. For me, at least, no need to apologize.
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.

They say the light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train. I say, climb aboard!
