I had to get my driver's license renewed. I haven't done my name change yet, so all of my information is still male.

I got there in the early afternoon, and there might have been two people waiting. Seriously, I took a number and was instantly called to a desk. They guy at the desk was very nice. I got everything sorted out, and I took another number for the photo. This time I might have waited, oh I don't know, thirty seconds. The woman taking the photo was so, so nice! She genuinely cared about me getting a good photo. She had me fix my hair, telling me to flatten out all the flyaways. "Go like this and run your fingers through your hair," she told me, as she curled her fingers half way. The only problem was that my bangs kept falling over my eyes. We had to keep reshooting, which made me laugh. So in my driver's license photo, I have a big, authentic smile!

My picture came out so damn good. It kind of sucks, knowing that soon I'll have to have a different photo. I hope my next one is just as good.

I'm glad you had an enjoyable experience. I had to have mine done twice last year. Once for the name change and second time weeks later for the gender marker. I'm glad they took the time for a nice picture. I'm not fond of mine, but I think most feel that way. Hugs

I'm glad you had a positive experience with the DMV. Mine last week was little better then getting a tooth pulled. My picture game out horrid and wasn't offered a chance to redo it. But at least I have it out of the way.

I have had some really good California photos but the one they took in Arizona make me look like the walking dead. They had far to much UV light and it washed my skin out and turned my hair a really bad shade of gray. In addition the photo was shot looking up at me which is the wrong angle to shoot a portrait from. I am glad you like your new picture because I really hate mine  ;D

Oh, I forgot to mention that instead of calling me by my boy name and outing me in the process, the lady at the desk simply addressed me as "Ms. G!" :)

That's what happened to me as well. I did have makeup on, makeup for taking photos with. And tested it before going into the DMV and looked awesome. But like you Dena the UV light washed me out and she used the flash on top of that, as well as looking up at me. So now I have a picture that makes me look like an orc from Lord of the Rings ;D
