StartingOver

As a guy, I looked best at about 170lbs.  I did shed about 30lbs once but looked gaunt and starved.  Put on about 30lbs too once, and looked really fat.

Now trying to lose weight again after being on HRT for over a year, currently starting at about 170lbs and wanting to get to maybe 140?

Would lots of weight loss while on HRT look different (and hopefully better) than lots of weight loss before HRT?  I'm unsure how much muscle I've lost so far; I'm certainly far weaker than I ever was, but I want to make sure that this time I don't end up looking gaunt when I lose, just more petite.  I'd also like to not lose too much of my curviness (which is pretty minimal at best), nor strip away much of the feminization that HRT has caused (which is again pretty minimal at best.)

Not sure much of that made sense...basically, did you lose weight in the same way before and after HRT?

No fat on you shall look about same on you pre and post hrt.

What I am doing is getting rid of the fat as a man, so I can add fat as a woman. In healthy quantities. I took off 19kg since end December last year. My plan is to go 15kg down and that is it. A total of 34kg. My target weight is 141 lbs. I will have achieved that way before I can possibly get hrt.

Even with the muscle loss?  My shoulders are dramatically smaller than before, so I'm expecting to end up looking at least a little less gaunt.  Given that muscle weighs more than fat, if I get down to 140lbs now I'll have a higher bodyfat percentage, whereas as a muscleyish guy when I got down to 140lbs I had minimal bodyfat and my face looked terrible.

On Hrt my face is fuller and I have a layer of fat under my skin or the fat cells are more full. I lost 16 pounds and I do not see a difference. I did have a female co-worker that commented after I told her I lost 16 pounds that she could see it in my face. I have a roundish face so I guess that is good.

Even with the muscle loss?
Hey, that is a valid point!!!

I am projecting my ideal feminine healthy weight to 141lbs without considering muscle will be lost as well.
Wow, I could be 120lbs or less once that has advanced. But I would have gained from breast and other places by then.

No fear of feminine fat here. I am happy on mere thought. :)

The weight itself is just a useless number, just try to hit the ratios you want. If you have some square bones just try not to get under 21% bodyfat (in my case I'm steady at 23%, for me it's the ideal bellyless/puffy face/boobs ratio).

To lose muscle the easy way, you should lose weight while either : not training the muscle you want to lose or overtraining this muscle. The first solution is more accessible as anyone healthy or not may achieve it. The second one is a bit harder but it manage to "kill" even the most stubborn muscles when did properly.

I was 125lbs before transition and was good looking, now to have an "equal" look I'm about 140lbs (I workout a lot but I'm not muscular at all, I even look leaner and less muscular than I was at 125).

The best you can do is to maintain your "curves" muscles before hrt and all the way into. Building hips and ass is much harder once on HRT but you'll definitly have ease to maintain it if you never stop. You won't choose where your fat is going to move but at least you can choose which body parts you'll choose to preserve muscle mass. With luck when your bodyfat is going up you're going to store more fat to hips, ass and boobs, combined with muscles you usually can build pretty curvy figure.

They already proven that losing your fat before or after beginning HRT won't changes the results as the new "pattern" will soon or later be the same. Some people may see early results by losing it first as some may slow their them by doing that it's genetical. Just remember to keep your M.D or Endocrinologist aware that you want to lose weight or accelerate muscle loss as both may change you HRT absorbtion ( Your dosages may change or not but it's better to get a follow)

At the same BMI (Body mass index) like same height and weight. After HRT you will look fatter than before HRT. Before HRT we will likely to have more muscle than fat and after HRT you keep losing you muscle and gain more fat.

The best way to find out the best weight for you is to keep monitor yourself. I find that my best weight keep changing, when I was guy, I look average at 160lbs, then I lose to 130 lbs before I start HRT and I look like a pencil at that time, like super skinny my face was like bone face. Then I start HRT, after a year on HRT, at the same 130 lbs weight, I do not look super skinny anymore and my face start to fill up.

And also I find out one thing, when I am skinny (for me skinny is like model skinny) I kidda look good on my cloth. But when I am a bit chubby I think it look better when naked ^__^
