I'm curious if any other post op women have had the same experience...

My greatest concern with surgery (had it June 15th) was whether or not I would regain the ability to orgasm, so I was absolutely ecstatic a couple weeks ago when I had my first post-op orgasm. It was fabulous, and so were the few other orgasms I gave myself after that. Then, a few days ago, I tried again, and things were feeling nice, and I was certainly aroused and feeling pleasure, but... couldn't get there. I tried for over an hour and just couldn't make it happen. Yesterday, same story, and again today. I was so thrilled that I'd recovered to the point of being able to orgasm again, but now I don't understand what the deal is...

I'm curious if anyone else had a similar experience, where it sort of came and went (so to speak)?

Yes, definitely. Heck, you got there earlier than I did; I knew the nerves were working because I'd orgasmed in my sleep at 3 weeks post-op, but it took me like 9 months to manage it while awake. And now that I'm over 3 years post-op I can *mostly* get there when I want to, but sometimes it just ain't happening. I think it's that the system is more fiddly than it used to be - I could basically guarantee that a mechanical attention to detail would work with the old stuff even if my mind wasn't in the game, but now I have to be paying attention and mentally turned on and generally in the right mood... and even then once in a while I'm overstimulated or something and it doesn't work.

From what I've heard from cis women, this is basically typical; the payoff is better when you get there, and the journey is a lot more fun, but it's not unusual to get "derailed" occasionally.

Sounds pretty normal to me. I'm still working out what all those new buttons and dials do. Generally success, but not guaranteed.

Thanks, both of you :) It helps just knowing that other people have dealt with the same thing. :)

Honey, I had SRS in 1974 at the age of 24 and led a wonderful sex life for years but as I got older and guys got older it became harder and harder to reach that earth-shattering orgasm. Sex is still lovely and the mini-orgasms are better than nothing but it has been YEARS since the earth moved but it doesn't matter - I am still having fun.

The worst thing you can do in pursuit of an orgasm is to try to have one. The best way to get there is just lay back, enjoy the sensations, and don't even THINK orgasm.

Enjoy life in whatever form it comes.

You could have a look here:

There might be a few reasons...
-estro levels high enough
-testo levels high enough
-no meds affecting orgasms
-healthy envoronment, possibly probiotic pessaries

-right mood, enough foreplay

and there are toys...

...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...
