I've been thinking about hrt but I hate therapy with a deep deep passion is a letter required to start hrt in Colorado? I have no insurance so paying someone 150 a week to talk just seems redicoulis

Don't know the answer Vendetta, but it's not a stupid question.  Seems quite reasonable to me.

Take care,
Paige :)

Not a stupid question at all - actually this is often a tricky thing to figure out because it has less to do with actual laws and more to do with just what healthcare providers in your area are willing to do. In many cases, healthcare providers will still require you to have a letter from a psychiatrist to begin hormone therapy, whereas others work on an "informed consent" model where you just have to sit down with one of their counselors to get a rundown of what hormones do (and don't do) and then you can start treatment.

You should spend a bit of time googling for different providers in Colorado. This might be one to check out: http://www.boulderwomenshealth.org/transgender/

Here's a list of informed consent clinics and a brief description of the process.

Technically therapy isn't required anywhere. It's just a matter of whether or not there are informed consent options near you. If there are, you can skip therapy and start HRT immediately or with a short wait. If they want you to speak to a therapist first based on your screening, they may refer you to someone.

There are online options you could consider as well. They were roughly $50 per session and it is about as detached from therapy as you can be while still being in therapy.
