On Saturday I went to the Take Back the Night (a woman's rights thing, women against violence, etc). It was really good. My roommates weren't sure if they were going to do and gave a thousand excuses why not to go. But eventually I convinced all three of them to come out. We went marching, hands linked, and had a really good time.

For me it was a great way to connect with other women and feel a sense of sisterhood.

Only by those who don't consider us women. There will always be those types  ::)

I went to one last year, and it was pretty fun.

I learned afterwards that there's a controversy about trans/women attending at some colleges, but meh.

I didn't have any problems when I was there, but I've heard of problems that people have had in other places and in the past. It depends on who is going and if they are friendly or not, and also if people out you or not.

That's wonderful, Gothique, I share your desire to bond with other women for women's issues. Doesn't it feel just great?! :)
Here's what I find about compromise--
don't do it if it hurts inside,
'cause either way you're screwed,
eventually you'll find
you may as well feel good;
you may as well have some pride

There's frequently events like that in Toronto too, I'm gad you had a good time. It's great to be part of something like that fighting for a good cause. It's sad that there's some non acceptance towards the trans community from other women, I have never had a problem but I do know others that have. Personally I consider myself a woman in everyway and I'm shure I am not alone.
