The court ruled that transsexuals are not included in Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which protects against employment discrimination, regardless of conformity to stereotype.

Pass ENDA now.

I'm confused... so what DOES it protect against?

You can't fire someone because they're a woman... but you CAN fire a woman for wearing pants?

Right now there are conflicting districts on Trans individuals and Title VII. We need something like ENDA before our fate is decided soley by the SCOTUS.

10th Circuit Court of Appeals upholds firing of transsexual UTA bus driver
Salt Lake Tribune

"The conclusion that transsexuals are not protected under Title VII as transsexuals should not be read to allow employers to deny transsexual employees the legal protection other employees enjoy merely by labeling them as transsexuals," the ruling said. "If transsexuals are to receive legal protection apart from their status as male or female, however, such protection must come from Congress."
