Found out today

Found out today that I am going to be a grandfather.My 18 year old son and his girlfriend found she is pregnant,they have been together for a year.I was not happy with him on this at first.Finally told him that he needs to step up and take responsibility.He already knows that and his girlfriend's dad was a little angry with him at first also.Great thing is they are learning something,he should of worn protection or keep the pants zipped up.I learned my lesson on this,became a dad when I was 18 now 36 years old.Slept around and had the unprotected sex as a teen.Great thing is I am a great dad,3 kids and pay child support on one,a 16 year old daughter.I used to pay child support for my 18 year old son and daughter,stopped when they turned 18.I am looking into this and helping my son out through this,he is listening to me very well knowing he will be a dad also.

Mom got on him at first and he is learning responsibility already.Great thing is he learning from his mistake he made and helping out his girlfriend already.Has figured out that everything changes after the baby is born.Plans are to name the baby my middle name if it's a boy honoring me.A life changing point in my life too,my first grandchild.

Also being a younger grand parent and great grand parent I would simply acknowledge that how "great" we are is not always going to be reflected by how our offspring behave.  I have a great love for my family and encourage all of us to be our best but there are no guarantees for good outcomes.  Heck even my dog like to demonstrate his ability to ignore my commands, especially if some one else is watching.

Found out they might be having a boy.My son has been doing a great job stepping right up and proving it to me.
