Hi everyone,

This is a completely new one to me, but may not be to you folk but wow wow wow: I've seen a number of Thai transsexuals who have had breast augmentation via the armpit i.e. the incision is made there. This has the effect of 1. leaving no scar tissue around the breast and 2. retains greater sensitivity.

They look absolutely amazing.

Maybe this has been around for ages, but it's new to me. Thai surgeons leading the transition way once again?!

I don't think its a new technique, but I am curious why other way is so popular. I can't help but think its about money.

I believe the massage the the Thai's do is uncommon elsewhere. Apparently it gives you a good result, but is really painful.

I saw it done that way in a documentary back in the 1980's. Definitely not a new technique.

Wow. Thanks for this. I wonder why it's not more popular in the west? It seems such an obvious method with no scarring around the breast. I believe it's actually an easier technique too. The ones I've seen here in Thailand, even with shaved armpits, aren't obvious unless you're looking closely.

I read some doctors' responses to questions about armpit incisions on RealSelf.com, and most say that it is a difficult procedure, with a higher risk of infection and capsular contracture. I had it done in Thailand with 500cc silicone implants, and I didn't didn't have any complications.

I've also heard of some surgeons doing an incision in the areola. It leaves a scar but since your nipples are covered anyway...

Ouch! That's such a sensitive area, no? And when you say, nipples are covered you mean in public? What about if you are with a partner I wonder?

I think the armpit procedure may have had more concerns before surgeons began performing it with endoscopes, since when a lot of sites say it's the easiest of the procedures (although that may be them touting for work!). This guy thinks it's easier:

I must say, some of the breasts I've been shown (in public lol!) do look really lovely without any scarring but that's a subjective aesthetic remark.
