From Eddie to Madison: Trans Journey

The Huffington Post/By Eddie Parsons   11/06/2015

"I met Eddie in the early 90's on a dance floor of a gay bar in Pensacola, Florida that had been converted from a scuba shop. Looking back, it was quite cinematic with the late night joke being "Who would get thrown into the training pool?"

Eddie was tall with long blonde hair and a radiant energy. I was tall with long brown hair and a dry sense of humor; it just so happens my name is Eddie too. We quickly formed a comedic duo with our opening line being "Hi, I'm Eddie" and "Hi, I'm Eddie" which took us past every club line and into every VIP lounge from Atlanta to Miami to New York City. "

That was a nice article; it reminded me of a friend I had in the army, when I was stationed in Germany. We took a trip to Lloret De Mar Spain on my 19th birthday, and one night we went into a nightclub called the Troubadour, and my friend told our server that we had a singing and comedy act (which we didn't), and she asked us if we would like to perform, and we said ok ( must have been the alcohol). So, we got onstage and proceeded to do an improvisational A cappella singing/stand up comedy routine, and surprisingly everyone loved it; we went back every night to perform, and eventually we picked up the nicknames "Boss and Sunrise", he was Boss because he always wore a suit, and I was Sunrise because I usually drank Tequila Sunrise cocktails. People would recognize us on the street, and come up to tell us how much they loved our show, and we were offered a full time gig at the Troubadour before we left, but since that would have required us to become deserters from the Army we decided against it. Anyway, I wonder how my friend would react to my transition; hopefully, he would be as accepting as Eddie is of Madison.
