Thx for your info Princess!

My condition has never really created any problems for me other than in my dysphoric mind I have dwelled on the fact that one of the two openings that I have could have been the remnants of a vagina that never developed.  In any case, I will be undergoing GCS in a cpl of weeks and the evidence of my hypospadias will forever disappear.

To learn if you are intersex, you need to ask your doctor and possibly have some special test run on you. The confusing thing is that transgender and intersex have the same causes but happen at different times in development of the fetus. The body develop first and if exposed to the incorrect sex hormone develops intersex. A bit latter if the brain is exposed to the wrong hormone, transgender develops. In intersex you can have both the brain and body exposed to the wrong hormone with both not matching the birth genetics.

I know this is an old post, but I just came across it and it has really struck a chord with me. It was suggested to me today for the first time in my 50+ years that I might be intersex. I have no idea if it's true but would like to find out. I would like to find anyone who has researched this topic, specifically the effect of in utero trauma on the fetus. My father died from a horrible fire a couple of weeks before my mom - who was also in the blast but not severely injured - gave birth to me. I've read that the stress that she suffered could very likely have released chemicals that caused the chronic depression I've always suffered. Now I'm wondering if it could've caused the gender issues I have always had. So....if anyone knows of a school/researcher/anyone else who has studied the effects of in utero trauma and gender, please let me know....thanks.
